Terms for using this site.
The rules for using Strut, written to be read rather than skipped.
Last updated:
- What you write stays yours. We process it only to run the features you asked for.
- Check the AI's work. It can be wrong, and you are responsible for what you publish.
- Cancel whenever you like from the billing portal, before the next renewal date.
- Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Your account and your writing
Keeping your account secure
You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with, and for anything done through your Strut account. Only invite collaborators who are allowed to read that project.
Who owns what you write
You keep the rights to the material you put into Strut, and you remain responsible for it — including any rights other people hold in it. You give us permission to process that material only as far as running the features you requested requires. We do not claim ownership of your manuscripts, and we do not use your writing to train AI models.
Using AI output responsibly
What AI can get wrong
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, unoriginal, or simply unsuitable. Before you publish anything it helped produce, check the facts, the sources, the rights, and the tone. Our guide on editing AI-assisted drafts covers how to do that properly.
What Strut is not
Strut is a writing aid. It is not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice, and it should not be treated as a substitute for a qualified person.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Attempt unauthorized access to any account or system
- Upload malware or interfere with the service's availability
- Work around plan limits or usage allowances
- Violate anyone's privacy or intellectual-property rights
- Use Strut in a way that breaks the law where you are
Plans, billing, and cancellation
What you are charged
Trial length, price, first charge, renewal date, and cancellation terms are all shown at checkout before you confirm. Plan allowances — the AI token amounts and how many projects and documents the free plan includes — are listed on the pricing page. Stripe processes every payment.
How to cancel
Cancel from the billing portal before the trial or renewal date and you will not be charged again. Cancelling returns your workspace to the free plan; nothing you have written is deleted or locked away.
Availability, changes, and termination
Features and limits will change as the product develops. We may restrict an account that creates a security, legal, or operational risk. Because no service is perfect, keep independent copies of manuscripts and sources you cannot afford to lose — every document exports in four formats.
No warranty and liability
Strut is provided as available. We cannot promise that every AI generation, file conversion, transcription, or collaboration action will work without interruption or error. To the extent the law allows, Strut is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
Common questions
Can I cancel at any time?
+
Yes. Cancel from the billing portal before your renewal date and you are not charged again. Your workspace returns to the free plan and nothing you wrote is deleted.
Who owns what I write in Strut?
+
You do. We process your material only to run the features you asked for, and we do not use it to train AI models.
What happens if I go over a plan limit?
+
The AI pauses; the writing does not. Drafting, notes, sources, search, version history, and exports keep working. See the pricing page for each plan's allowance.
Am I responsible for what the AI writes?
+
Yes. Anything you publish is yours, so check facts, sources, and rights first. Our AI editing checklist walks through that review.
